fired for being late without any proof or warning ?

I’m appealing a notice sent to me that denies me any UI benefits. I was fired for being late without any warning . My boss used that as a excuse to fire me even though she also stated that I didn’t have enough experience doing commercial construction and they did not have the time to train me. I completely understand not wanting to train for a position you don’t really need due to a work slow down. However making up a bogus story to avoid paying UI is just crazy. Does anyone see a reason why I might lose my appeal ? basically my argument is as follows

1. no warning
2. no written documentation
3.no history of tardiness with previous employer
4. I filed a claim after being laid of from a delivery company after working there for a year and I was awarded a benefit of 0 a week and I never canceled that claim

any meaningful input will be much appreciated !
